History of the plant started on the 6th of May 1895 when the ceremony of the opening of “Lugansk Cartridge Works” took place and production started. New state cartridge plant with the capacity of 100 mln. cartridges per year produced cartridges of 7.62x54 mm caliber which were invented by the Russian officer colonel Rogovtsev. The plant became the main supplier of cartridges for the Tsar army. The Russian Revolution in October, 1917 and the Civil war resulted in almost complete stop and destruction of industry. After the Civil war the plant was quickly rebuilt. Along with holding its renewed production, the plant started manufacture of technological equipment. During the Second World War at the end of 1941 the plant was evacuated to the regions of Ural, Siberia and Central Asia, and on its basis there were founded 7 plants. There were manufactured more than 4 billion cartridges for small arms. The new era of cartridge manufacture began with the creation of PJSC “Lugansk Cartridge Works” in 2002.
